If you could choose your obstacles, would you keep the ones you have?

We all have our difficulties in life. It would be totally wrong if we compare our obstacles with others and think that their lives are much more simplified. That’s not how it is. I believe everyone goes through that difficult phase of life. So here is the twist…if you could choose your obstacles, would you keep the ones you have? Well, in my opinion I believe it is important to go through those difficult times and to face that discomfort because that is what makes us stronger and capable enough. We initially fear things that we don’t know. And moreover, this proverb says it all right? A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor. What do have to say on this?

I have to agree with you. If we can choose the kind of problem or obstacles that we need to pass through in life, I think that most of us will not choose many of our obstacles. In fact, we would not even choose to have to experience those kinds of difficulties. Honestly, there are lots of things that I have gone through that I don't want my kids to go through, and there are things that I should have gone through but I haven't. Yet, as you said, these things can help us become mature and develop our character. In everything, there is always a purpose from our Creator who allow us to experience things because it's good for us in the long term.
