Wow! Transit Elevated Bus running in the mid-air is coming

Yesterday, the Transit Elevated Bus (TEB) which has been independently researched and developed by China was on road test in Hebei Province.
As can be seen from the picture above, the TEB can carry up to 300 passengers and its passenger compartment rises far above other vehicles on the road. There are three obvious advantages of TEB:
1. Relieve the traffic jam. Because of the hollow space beneath the TEB, cars can drive underneath it like driving through a tunnel. Thus, the TEB does not need to take up extra road resources.
2. Save energy and protect environment. TEB is purely driven by electricity, reducing the fuel consumption and carbon emission.
3. Construct at low cost and save time. The construction cost of TEB is only 20% of the subway construction cost, and it just take one year to build the TEB system, compared 5-6 years construction period for the subway to cover the same distance
Although I’m amazed that conceptual design has become the reality, I am a bit worried about the safety of the TEB, especially at the intersection, there are some potential dangers of collisions between TEB and the car beneath it when they run in different directions. What do you think of this TEB? Share it in the comments.

I've been saying this in youtube for days now, they should put the weight limit on this thing. You never know when it would have too much passengers, this isn't just a train where you can squeeze people inside like sardines.
Can't believe they did it.

You're right, many experts question this TEB, because transportation is a system consisting of people, road, vehicle and environment synthetically, if the TEB want to put into practice, there are still many difficults need to resolve besides its own technological problems.Almost old roads are seemingly in need of restructuring to meet the demand of vehicle width, all the interchanges are seemingly in need of demolition when they're not high enough to meet the demand of vehicle height. That's terrible ! I think TEB seems fail to maintain sustainable development with so many insurmountable difficulties .

@Sun7788 I wonder if they tested this first before actually revealing it to the public. because it would be a disaster if they haven't tested this thing.

@Letranknight2015 I don't know the detailed test data, but experts think the technical problem can be solved to guarantee load-bearing security. My overriding concern is that this TEB can't suit the complex urban traffic environment in China, they just test this on the simple and straight road section. This blind innovation seems to soak up investors' cash.

Wow , this a an amazing innovation of cars so as to avoid traffic . But i suppose , the problem you are thinking of that at the intersection , i am sure that is already taken cared of when they did this TEB .
This would indeed help decongest traffic .

Yeah, the designer said the TEB can avoid collision with cars by intelligent signal control. But I don't think it will suit the Chinese reality, although cars may obey the traffic regulation through rigorous video surveillance, there are many pedestrians and non-motor vehicles running red lights. if safety can't be guaranteed, innovation is meaningless.

looks to me like a way to ease traffic congestion and get people to wherethey need to go great innovation

Yeah, with the rising living standards in recent years, many people can now afford a car, yet it creates traffic congestion in the rush hour. Driving in large cities in China has already become a big headache. Hope this TEB can be put in actual operation soon.
