Very Hot Day

This is August in Wisconsin. The temp right now is 88F but heat index is at 96. Stepping outside is like stepping into a sauna. Coming into the apartment this morning was almost as bad as outside. It was hot and sticky in here. My son called and needed to do something, so left to pick him up at the house and it was hotter when I left here than it was when I came just a couple hours earlier. Instead of coming back to the apartment, I got more packing done and tried to get things organized. The tornado is starting to take some semblance of order, not much, but it's a start. The plan is to move completely on Saturday. Checking the forecast it's supposed to be slightly cooler, not much, but the humidity is supposed to be higher, so we could still be looking at a heat index similar to today. Right now I need a break so came back to the apartment for a couple hours. I have church tonight, so I won't be here very long and my son works tonight, so I won't be back until tomorrow morning. When my son was here earlier I had him take care of the air conditioner. I can't reach it. So it is now putting some nice cool air into the apartment, which I can thankfully feel in my office. I also brought my office chair this morning, and am comfortable for the first time since I got the computer set up. The stool I was using was very uncomfortable. So anyway, that's what's happening here. The sun is shining, there are clouds and a slight breeze, but you wouldn't know it stepping outside. How has your day been?
