Ever feel the need to break something when it doesn't work?

I find it funny and odd how we act towards objects when it isn't working properly. I admit, I've had my moments where a DVD wont play or this damn internet keeps cutting out or even the kettle decides to be a butt and not boil water, that I will want to throw it in front of a moving bus! I've noticed this with a lot of people. Something wont work the way it's meant to so they get violent towards it lol Swearing at it. Threatening to kill it! Punching it! But really, when you think about it, that wont help. In fact it's only doing more damage. Do you ever act this way when something just isn't working the way it's supposed to?

Okay, I admit, I have totally done this before! With computers, tv, internet, kitchen appliances, etc. I've never gotten violent and assaulted these things before, but believe me I wanted to! I mostly just yell and curse at them! lol Sometimes they listen and cooperate, but most times they just sit there like they don't understand a word I'm saying! lol

@moffittjc LOL! Maybe some of the objects you have are foreign. That's why they don't cooperate!

LOL! Yes I do get violent. My PC, my phone had been slapped around by me many a times. But internet is one thing I can't touch when it is being a butt which is quite often. It only adds fuel to the fire! lol

@VivaLaDani13 Well they deserve it! Smacking them around sometimes get them on the straight and narrow or at least give the legit excuse to get a new one.

I do it . Sometimes this punishment and punch works on them and they start working. But, it is not advisable. That is why I always keep the things up-to-date. I give around once in 15 days.

I used to hold my fists or scratched my head sometimes and was so frustrated about it, but I didn't throw or hit the thing that does not work. I am not sure if I am angry with myself or the thing as I can't get it to work. But I learned to keep calm, as I know panic or angry doesn't help. Now I learn to just leave it for awhile, then come back and see if it's working. If it's not, then I will try to think of a solution. There are many other things that keep my mind and emotion busy, especially my children, so now these things won't get on my nerves so easily now.

One day at work this guy was trying to get the radio tuned into a station. It wasn't coming in so he stepped back and gave the radio the finger. I asked if he thought that helped. He said no, but it made him feel better.

I smash the sh1t out of things. Last thing was a netbook around 6 months ago...I spilled cider over it then the keyboard wouldn't work so me and my landlord shot it with our air rifles It did do more damage but as I have the money to replace things who cares...made me feel better at the time

If things aren't working the way they're supposed to, I just keep my cool. It would be futile to get violent towards a thing.

This happens with me also especially when my computer wants to freeze up or run slow. It always seems to want to run slow, freeze, or update when I need it for school and have a time limit on something.
