I just completed a series of my ten favorite songs with "run" in the title. So after you run, you gotta walk! Now I begin a list of my ten favorite songs with the word walk (or some variation of "walk") in the title.
#10: We Walk - R.E.M.
Yeah, I know. This stood for years as the absolutely dumbest R.E.M. song out there until "Shiny Happy People" came along. But there's just something infectious about the melody and the simplistic lyrics.
And, I have a great memory of this song. When I first saw R.E.M. (on Halloween, 1984) I ended up front and center (thanks to the fact that most of the audience at the Aloha Ballroom was there to see the local band that opened for R.E.M.), and Michael Stipe sang the conclusion of the song much the way he does in the video linked below. No, he didn't climb on the barricade (there wasn't one), but he did sit down on the edge of the stage and morph "We Walk" into "Behind Closed Doors."
That's when I knew I'd be an R.E.M. fan for life.
We Walk
Written by Bill Berry, Peter Buck, Mike Mills, and Michael Stipe
Recorded by R.E.M.
From Murmur, 1983
Here's the live version of "We Walk"/"Falling In Love Again"/"Behind Closed Doors":

Hey, I like Shiny Happy People. All of a sudden walk songs are flooding my mind: Walk Like an Egyptian, Walk This Way, I'm Walkin', Walk Don't Run, Baby Elephant Walk, Walk on By, Walk On, Walk Like a Man and a song that you could never ever consider for your list, I Walk the Line lol! All this walkin' in my mind is your fault!

@FourWalls - Here is a new "walk" song for you...
Nothing quite like lots of walking, right?
Highlighting the old-timey song by Akins and the Birmingham Boys, this short video is about walking, walking, walking.

I don't remember ever seeing a barricade in a Rockpalast clip before. Interesting.
