So before I went in to work today I was out in my car listening to Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast, if you are a wrestling fan and never listened to Cabana’s podcast I recommend you do so, his guest on today’s (8/4/16) show was the living legend Terry Funk.
As I was listing to the Funker talk I wondered to my self if there was mailing address I could wright Funk at and I found one.
A quick google map search showed me that the address looks to be Terry Funks home. On top of that Terry Funk lives an hour and a half to two hours from me.
So all day and even still to this point I am marking out over this. The mark in me want’s to take a little road trip to Amarillo so I can eat at a Waffle House, don’t have those here in Lubbock, and to drive by the Funkers house.
Just drive by. I mean that all ready seems creepy and the thought of getting out and knocking on his door to talk to him seems more stalkerish then any thing else.
So the mark in me just decided to order a photo and a best of dvd from highspots.com and when they get in wright Terry a letter and ask for an autograph, sending him the photo I ordered (or the dvd cover).
Seeing how close I live to one of the legends of pro wrestling reminds me back when I lived in Ft. Worth, I lived right up the road from another pro wrestling legend the late great Gary Hart, who I got the chance to meet when I refereed my first wrestling show.

That is pretty cool and nothing wrong with driving by someones house once. It is when you keep repeating it that makes it stalkerish. lol The one good thing about living where I do is I can say I live about an hour and a half from many celebrities. Then Kobe Bryant has family in the next town over. He visits every once in a while from what I heard. I do not like most of them in real life so it is no big deal to me. The only ones I would like to meet is Bill Maher and Tim Armstrong.

@TigerMask81 I would imagine your state has lots of sports celebrities in it. I bet you are glad Jose Canseco left though or did he.... lol

@crossbones27 I think he is no longer in Texas. It would not surprise me if a lot sports celebrities live/retired in/to Texas, Florida and Nevada because they don't have to pay state tax. I know there is a few more stats that don't do the state tax thing as well but I'm blanking out on them.

@TigerMask81 Yeah,I remember they told us this when I got of the Marines, but I cannot remember also. It must be nice to be rich and not pay state taxes. Must save them a lot of money. Us regular folk, not so much, but better than nothing I suppose. That is why I wonder why athletes sign in Canada of their own free choosing. They lose a lot in taxes. I know some athletes have no choice though. I remember Chris Bosh or someone complaining about it.

Are you a wrestling referee ?
That's cool.
You probably meet wrestlers that some of them will be legends in the future, who knows.
All of the wrestlers are regular people just like me and you, they live at homes, they got families and more.
I think you like the characters they play in the rings, aren't you ?

@TigerMask81 You are right, the wrestlers, some of them even hang out with their ring name outside of the ring. Well, we get to see them more real than movie actors.
I wish the local wrestling scene was better, we have the IPWA (Israeli pro-wrestling association) and it's not as professional as the WWE, not even close, and the IWL, the is more new and better. :-)
Well, it is cool to meet wrestlers. I have a relative, the son of my cousin, he loves professional wrestling, maybe I will take him one day to watch a show and maybe he will learn professional wrestling and become an amateur.
