Too much rain, one bridge collapsed

So rain has started to affect us. I didn't knew something like this would happened. It seems the old bridge made in 1920s would fall during this rain. I mean those bridges managed to stand up for way longer than all of this.
But this last week two buses drown with the bridge collapse. And the way those buses went under was very dramatic. The flow of water was so high that bridge was broken in the middle and bus went with the flow. Bus didn't drown immediately is what the people around say.
I guess two buses had around 68 or so people. So no idea how many would be recoverable from ocean now. They have found the driver though.

That's sad news but a bridge as old as that collapsing would be somehow understandable. Worse than that is our bridge under construction here in our city which collapsed by itself last month. It was a blessing that it collapsed while still under construction and there were no workers at the time it collapsed on an early morning.

@sunrisefan , my good Lord, at least no one perished on that accident, so horrible, bridges must be inspected by DPWH.

I am sorry to hear that. At first I thought it's sad to hear the old bridges falling down, but when I read there are people drowning, it sounds dangerous. Are there anyone checking if the bridges are still workable, or fixing the old bridges so they can still be used?
Hope the people in the bus will be rescued very soon.

Oh my that all sounds bad. We recently had a lot of rain here and several teens, more than one set, had to be saved from the overflowing rapidly moving river.

Wow, sad to hear that. Wish we could handle these types of things better because we all know it is coming and nearly 100 years and we still do not have enough money to make a bridge modern.

That was tragic. Hope the passengers and the bus drivers survive.
