I am soooo frustrated with this home alarm system! We have been having issues with it for ten months now, finally threw in the towel, and called another alarm company. They came out, set up our new system, took all day, but it's in and it works.
Now when we called to cancel the old system, they said we couldn't cancel, because we had a five year contract...WHAT?? No way, I called a while back and was told we only had a two year contract, and it was already done. I talked to another person that has that same company, and she too ran into problems when she tried to cancel, found out they automatically renewed her contract every year, without her permission.
All I know is, if they can't make this right, we will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Have you ever dealt with a company like this?

Why do some companies have to be dishonest, I don't get it.

We encountered this problem once. We had a maintenance contract for our gas heater. We changed the heater and the old company pretended that the contract was still valid. A letter from our insurance lawyer (covered by our house insurance) convinced them immediately that they were wrong.

@lilnana1111 For us it was easy because it's written in the Law, if you do not own anymore the product of the contract, the contract immediately comes to end.

Fortunately not and hope you get to make things right. It's abusive for a company to renew automatically without the client's consent.
