Do you even realize that you are being ignored?

There are so many posts coming up every day. So many new people we come across. Not to forget all the followers we have and the ones who we our-self follow.
We have our own set of people that we make sure to visit regularly on myLot.
Counting all of that, I imagine there are so many responses a person can make. (Not necessarily all but still plenty) I personally don't keep track of all of the responses I made. I like to go with the flow.
If I like the post and find it interesting then I answer it and move on to the next. If they reply then all the better. If they don't I may not know it at all since I didn't keep track.
I am more concerned with the discussion/ conversation happening in the present while I am online.
I was reading this post by @VivaLaDani13 titled "Why are you here if you're just going to ignore people?" that had me thinking.
So, I was wondering, do you even realize that your response has been ignored? Do you keep track of all your responses along with your comments?
How do you do it?

@Daljinder Thank you for the mention.
You have a good question!
I don't keep track of that stuff actually. I only ever go back to discussions once I get a notification. Otherwise, I don't really think about it anymore once I've done my part.

@marlina True that! It's not easy keeping track anyway.

@Daljinder I think it will be difficult to track down whether our responses are being ignored. What we can do is we could try to clear our notifications. When every body attend to all the notifications, the responses will not get ignored.

@Daljinder This is turning into a Jr. High discussion. Life is too short to worry about all the people that did not answer. Maybe they did not care about the discussion or they ran out of time. If people are ignoring you, change what you are doing and be more interesting.

@silvermist You are forgetting one thing though. You get notifications for the replies back but you will never get notifications for the responses that go ignored. So you wouldn't know that they were ignored.

I think it's always better to grow over the stage of people ignoring or caring about us. I learned this exercise - "is this useful" I apply it here. does people ignoring and not ignoring or caring helps? if yes then more to think and if not then just better to move on.

@skysnap Well said! I guess by wondering about the "whys" we only bother ourself while the other person remains blissfully ignorant.

well.. I don't keep track of them, though if I feel if it's an ongoing debate then sure I will check up on it.
Incidentally, I replied to a post about "too much bible" on myLot, I thought I formed a coherent counter-argument, but never heard a peep back from the poster. Who I assumed wanted to discuss things openly..per their statement.
so I am a bit surprised by their lack of response there

@akalinus its not exactly start ww3, but what's the point of saying it's a discussion when clearly it's just a statement.

@Daljinder Why start WW 3 when it won't change anyone's opinion?

@Drosophila I would be surprised too if I didn't get the response in that case and go check back on it. I reckon some people just can't take disagreements. They only want people to agree with them and those who don't get blatantly ignored.

@Daljinder I have 172 discussions. I can't go look at them every day. I do answer if I get a notification for an older discussion. I'm not sure what you are asking.

@akalinus As the post says "Do you keep track of all your responses along with your comments?" Each and every one of them that you made everyday? (Not those you received)

@Daljinder On the old mylot it was frowned upon to leave short responses and comments so replying back then was harder at times to think of something to write.

@shaggin This I never knew. I can see why it would have been difficult to reply on there. Not every topic/ post generate lengthy responses.

I don't know if it's about ignoring people. Sometimes I'm not qualified to post on something a person has written, sometimes it's about time, there are lots of reasons I might not comment. I try to like as many posts as possible. At the moment it's not too bad as I have rejoined the site after a long break and not many people have noticed me yet! Either that or they don't want to be my friend! lol

@Daljinder I shall keep that in mind. I have seen a few people here that I recognise from other sites which is nice :)

@sprite1950 Welcome back to myLot!!!
Hey! At least by this response I have noticed you. Just keep interacting you will get noticed soon enough. By my experience, I have three kinds of people who are noticed and remembered. First being the people who reply back to every one. Second being the people who write interesting or knowledgeable posts/ comments/ responses. Third being the ones we have bonded here and are now good friends.
It's not necessarily because they don't want to be your friend. Believe me many of the posts we all comments on are complete strangers to us. But we are a community so we support each other regardless of that.

There is no record or list of past events except our own history folder in our browser. Sometimes I revisit to see how a discussion went but not always. Just too busy. And besides the notifications keep us busy in discussions that do take place so why bother?

I just monitor my notifications, then reply to those who commented or liked it. Then I go to new posts and comment on interesting ones.

@acelawrites That's what most of us do here. There is no time keeping up with all responses when we have notifications to deal with.

@JustBhem That's quite possible that they are too busy. I know some are not regular and check in every few weeks. It is quite possible that they lost those notifications and hence missed the responses.

@Daljinder Well, it's really up to them if they still like to return the favor. As they also have their reason. And maybe you are right about that.

@JaboUK Same here! If I wrote a lengthy response or asked something specific or it was a debate, I remember it and go back because I expect replies there.

I don't keep track of the things I comment on. Some people just get busy and don't have the time to respond to everyone or forget to respond sometimes. I know I do when I have a busy day or a lot of notifications. Heck, sometimes I forget what post I have commented on and which ones I haven't.

@stifler0207 Now that you have realized it, would you keep track of all your responses or would you just let it go and move on?
