Why do dogs wag their tail ?

When i enter my house from my school my doggy wags his tail and keeps jumping on my feet what does it mean is he happy seeing me or its just their behaviour.

Its their way to express joy. My dog also wag their tale when I play with them or give them treats.

Your dog is happy you are home. It means someone will prepare his food. lol

If they know the person or if they are happy seeing that person after some time.

My dogs do the same thing. I could mean he is happy to see you or sometimes it could mean they are excited about something. My dogs do that when I feed them in the mornings :)

I agree with all the previous posts. It is a sign of joy, happiness to see you, and they even will get excited when you feed them and/or give them a treat!

It can mean they are happy but if you look it up you'll see it is actually way more complicated than that.
