The "T" word! Don't say it like its a bad thing. All my life people have told me I am Tenacious like its a bad thing. When you are a child and you want something you ask an adult. They tell you No! That doesn't change how you feel you still want it. You understand that now you have to convince the adult to say Yes!
You plan to make the request again and plead and try to bargain never resigning yourself because in the back of your head is your parents voice saying "If at first you don't succeed try try again." "Quitters never prosper."
Again and again the adult replies adamantly No, stop being Tenacious! Stop being Tenacious?! Why in the world would you say that when all along it has been you ingraining it in me to always be tenacious through out life and in all that I do.
Leaders would not be where they are had they not been tenacious in achieving the end game.
The "T" word don't say it like its a bad thing. Tenacity can be a good thing when its being used for good things.

You have a good point there! To which I counter, why do we always feel like we have to "get ahead?" How come we can never just be chill and content with our lives, and be happy with what we've already got? I'm not trying to start an argument with you, just more or less wondering out loud! LOL

@just4him That's what makes us human! Otherwise, we'd be no different from animals, simply living out our existence trying to eat, reproduce and survive. That might be fine if I was a deer or something, but as a person, there is so much more to life!

@moffittjc We would grow bored very fast. We need to be always doing something to better ourselves. It's part of who we are.

I like that you added "when it's being used for good things." Sometimes they are talking about tenacious as in letting nothing including honesty stand in the way of reaching the goal. And some people are a tad too tenacious about letting go of an argument that can't be won. I think those are the negative sides to tenacious, but as in fulfilling your goals in an aboveboard way, it's a very positive word.

It is not a word you hear people use today as much as when I was growing up you hear other synonyms no matter they mean just the same but yes it is a positive word which drove me nuts to hear as a kid and when I hear someone say stop being tenacious it brings a small smirk to my face.
