What Makes You Happy?

Hi there! I'd like to start my first discussion talking about what makes you happy. Everyone has something that makes them happy. In my case, crochet, webdesign and nail art make me happy, just to name a few. But you, the person or persons reading this discussion right now. What makes YOU happy? It can be anything. Happiness does not come from materialistic things or from money, although they may bring a bit of happiness. What makes you happy means finding that joy in your life, the spark, the laughter. Be honest in your replies. I'd love to read what makes you happy. :)

Having all my kids home at the same time, spending alone time with my husband (after they've all gone home!), a perfect pizza, the newest book from a favorite author, singing a special in church and feeling that the Holy Spirit is blessing others through me...as Julie Andrews said, "These are a few of my favorite things. "

Those are beautiful things to be happy with. I used to sing in a church choir years ago, how beautiful! The perfect pizza, now I'm hungry. Thank you for your reply. You're a beautiful person. :)

I agree with you @1creekgirl. I don't have a husband yet nor kids but the rest of what you said applies also to me as well. Being with the people that we love the most certainly our family gives us immense joy. I enjoy my time with my mom and with my sisters. I would be happier if my daddy is still around but he is now in heaven.

Aside from what I commented to @1creekgirl, another thing that makes me happy is my blog. I love seeing what I wrote and reading my experiences in life. I have been doing it for some time. I am a newbie to blogging so I am quite slow but I know that every time I expose myself in blogging, I progress. It gives me a feeling of satisfaction and achievement.

@annierose Not yet, since I just joined today. It says I can't unless I have a user rating of 10. Once I do, I'll add it. I'd love to see yours as well. :)

Many people are looking for happiness. The first thing they start to look at are the materials in this world. That's the lowest level of happiness. Some will try to find happiness in events and in other people, or something that they can do worth their while. This is what I call the 2nd level of happiness. Few are very happy giving value to others like their family and other people. This is the 3rd level of happiness in my own book. Then we have very few who find happiness in what God has purposed in their life. This is the highest form of happiness - the happiness that money can't buy. I am trying to do what I can to reach the highest form. I am not yet there.

That's where I'm still a little confused, in what the purpose of my life is. I often feel it's one thing, then everything changes. You will reach the highest point, it shall take time but it will come. Thank you for your reply. :)

I am happy with my family around; of course with some money to buy food, etc.
