Does our concentration decrease when the weather gets very hot?

Today, the temperature reached 40 degrees and the air was very dry. No wind is moving around and people are very tired. It's difficult to overcome this clima without an air condition and cold water. Taking a bath in the sea refreshes only for a moment and then, the opression comes back again. Even having a long list with tasks to do, the concentration fails with the high temperature.
Are you able to maintain your concentration when it gets hot?

@MKAlubs When very hot I take a cool shower. Once when our water heater went out I had to take a cold shower. We have well water and it gets colder the longer you use it. That water was like ice standing under it. It took my breath away each time I had to go under it lol it was awful.

This summer has been so hot that I've actually taken several cold showers with the sole intent of cooling down. Cold showers can be very hard to take but they really can cool you down..... for at least a little while.

Must be horrible in such a high temperature with no air moving. Hope it gets cooler for you soon.

Yes. It's only when I lack sleep that I can't focus on things that I need to do.

Oh if we didn't have air conditioining I'd be totally zapped for sure. I'm a little low on energy these days in the first place. Cold water and a/c make all the difference in weather like that. A fan just doesn't cut it. Are you in high humidity as well?.

I think you have made a great observation, Margarita. My concentration definitely decreases in oppressive heat. (And we've had way too much of it this summer. I'm looking forward to September.)

Yes, it is always hard to concentrate when it is too hot or too cold. But more often, since I am working in an airconditioned office, I find it harder to work when it is too cold because my fingers are freezing up. It makes it harder to type.
