Flooding Engines

Chicago, Illinois

I recently was looking around for funny youtube videos when I saw someone drive into a flooded area and he said "Uh Oh, I think I just flooded it". I know what flooding a car is but whats when people talk about flooding an engine with gas? I heard that's a thing and nothing that I look up is really what I'm looking for. So can anyone help me out on my question?

They pour the gas in the wrong space and damage the engine.

I think that this means when you overgas the engine. You flood the carburetor with too much gasoline.

That's what we say, I think it's when you flood the carburetor with gas by stomping on the gas pedal when starting the car.I have done it.
