How Do You Feel About Reality TV Shows?

I admit it, it's a guilty pleasure of mine and my husband, to watch a few reality TV shows. Not just any shows, we watch Survivor, Big Brother, Amazing Race. Those shows are fun for us to watch. What about you, though. Do you watch reality TV shows? What do you really think of them? I know these type of shows have existed for quite some time. I just want to know what your opinions are. In my opinion, I prefer the shows I mentioned, but when it comes to other reality shows, I feel as if people are exposed more than they should be.

It's funny, because when I first read your title, and before I had a chance to read your post, I thought to myself, "I love Survivor, Big Brother and the Amazing Race." And then I see what you wrote and I had to laugh, because you wrote exactly what I was thinking!

@ellagotnailed My daughter and I (she's 16) want to apply to be on the Amazing Race. We have been watching it together for years, and it is our absolute favorite. And speaking of Survivor, one of the contestants from Season 4, Gina Crews, used to work for me as a lifeguard, and still lives here in my town!

Those shows are the best in my book. If my husband and my mother-in-law had not gotten me hooked, I'd be missing out. I'm happy to know that I have written your thoughts. I'm no mind reader lol!

@moffittjc That is a fantastic show! My husband and I recently got into it about 2 years ago. You really should apply if you want to. I'd love to see that. Then I can say, "I know him! He's one of the cool people who commented to my post on Mylot!" Give it a go and see what happens. OMG Gina Crews? That is pretty awesome!

Reality TV shows keep money in my pocket. They are a huge reason why I do not pay for cable.

That's OK. Reality TV is not for everyone. To each his own is what I always say.

i used to watch survivor and the amazing race.. but i got bored with the show. maybe because i have fave contestants in the previous episodes so i wasn't really interested in the new ones. i like watching keeping up with the kardashians. they are funny. i like their clothes and styles. they are good in business.

I've watched The Kardashians. There is only so much I can stand with them, but for some reason they are interesting people to watch. I always have my favorites with Survivor, Amazing Race and Big Brother.

True! Some of it may very well be overdone. For the entertainment. I've heard some are as real as they come. So, you never know.

I don't care for reality TV shows. I think most of them are kind of stupid.

Ha ha! Well, yes. I can attest to that fact. Some shows are stupid.

I liked survivor but Im wondering just how far they will go, will they let people get too' close to dying just for drama ?

I think on Survivor a lot of it is real, I mean that season before last, everyone was falling and it was too scary, but did seem like it was for drama. Never know though!

I used to love watching reality tv shows. My fiance says they are staged though.
