Just another coffee shop

A friend was in town yesterday and said "Show me your favorite place.". And all I could think of was this small little coffee shop tucked away in a small corner. There were gardens and pubs and museums and multiplexes and traffic snarls as well. But my mind got stuck on the coffee shop. This city has many fancy coffee shops as well. But I guess over time, this one has become my favorite. More than the coffee, I like that I can sit here quietly with my work or a book and would not be disturbed. I can sit out in the open sitting area and watch life flow by - children going to school, teenagers on their smart-phones, lovers hanging out in the coffee shop, women going shopping, street dogs sleeping in the sun. There is life outside and there is privacy inside. And in a city which is fast getting depleted of its natural beauty, I can still see the green trees around and in seasons the little corner gets covered with colorful bougainvillea flowers. And this little shop takes on a magical quality.
