Do you recycle?

For me, I was raised to not be wasteful and to do everything all nice and proper. This included properly sorting rubbish. All paper, plastic and metal scraps had to be sorted into either a trash or recycle bin and sent for recycling. I still continue that practice up to now and just feel it to be a huge waste if I simply toss a piece of paper directly into the trash due to laziness. I'd like to know if this is also a common practice in other countries such as western countries. I'm from a modern part of Asia where it's fairly easy to send things for recycling.

We have recycling bins where I live. We can recycle plastic, paper, and cardboard. We keep soda cans, aluminum, and copper which we take to a recycling place when we get enough.

@Joel7050 I don't. Sometimes, something will break down and we take copper from it. Or there will be a pipe, wire, or cable. It would be great to find some everyday.

Not many recycling plants here but definitely would consider if there is any.

Here we have a truck that comes round every week or so to collect recyclables, and also people who have the job of going around every few days to collect scrap metal and old newspapers.

I recycle like mad! Pretty much anything that the council here in the UK will allow in recycling bins goes in there, even the tiniest piece of plastic. Gardening is also great for recycling, whether it's food waste in compost or old containers reused as cloches or pots.

Yes, I do. I turned the photocopies of my cases into a notebook. Also, I use the back portions of white papers as drafts for my pleadings.

Yep, we have a trash can, a glass bin, and a GIANT recycling bin that the garbage guys pick up every week. In the winter we burn our paper products but in the summer, that recycling bin is FULL. I'd like to start a compost pile, now that I've got rabbit poo piling up.

I recycle when I am at school because it is easier for me to just do it when I am by myself. At home I don't do it as much because it is hard to keep it sorted with my mom, dad, boyfriend, and sister all throwing trash away and they don't recycle. Plus at the dump the recycling binds are normally closed.
