Cure for Chapped Lips

I have been suffering from chapped lips for quite some time now and I don't really know what causes it.
I have tried some lip balms and I guess they are not working since I continue to have the problem.
Do I need to look for a specific ingredient in lip balms or should I try to go to home remedies?
Please share if you have any suggestions.

I've only tried using Vaseline and a honey-based lip balm. They seem to work best for me. I prefer the honey-based one though, it's all natural.
