I Did It!

What's that, you ask? I finished one string quilt block.
I took photos along the steps and put them together in a post over on blogbourne.
I almost didn't do it last night though as I was so late to finally be getting to many of my things online.
Just like today....I was gone from early this morning on into the afternoon. A nap was severely needed after being out in the heat for hours.
I'm getting a super late start online today too, or so it seems. I did spend some time on the blogbourne post as I was messaging one of the moderators for help putting images in. She ended up editing for me, so even though it's not as I intended, it may look nicer than the way I had it to start with.
Now tonight I'm all ready to start on a jellyroll style quilt top and take photos of it as I work on it. Should I do it?? All I have so far is the strips out and I did take a picture of those.
It's hot hot hot hot outside. It's just making me feel totally exhausted. I'm just back from being out in it again to take my mom to pick up her prescription.
With all of that, I am now moving on! I do hope that if it's as hot where you are as it is here in Kansas, that you are staying cool!

it is typical quilt as you go although you don't have to make the blocks that way. I've never done one with the batting in the middle so this is a first.
I like quilt as you go because I have a heck of a time with quilting a full quilt, or even something small on mu machine. It never fails that I get to an end and the material folds over....even with the walking foot.

@marsha32 i've done quite a few'f diff'rent quilt's ya go projects here. sure makes't go faster :) i hear ya'n that foldin' o'er schtuff... 'r not gettin' the battin'/backin' large 'nough to allow fer 'shrinkage' when ya start quiltin'. i've found that with the bastin' spray such's not that big'n issue? might be so fer larger projects, thus far i've only done such 36x54".

I know I have done a similar technique to this somewhere along the line for a pillow top. or something. I have some strips I had other plans for that might work well in this. I would love to get something finished sometime.

It was the first technique that Betty taught me. You know how I am when I learn something new....I get stuck on it, then set it aside.

Pretty colors! Hot here too, nobody wants to go outside. But it hasn't been hitting 100 so not as bad as it has been.
I'm going to take a look at that blog site. There are a lot more sites being mentioned here at myLot that I hadn't heard of. You don't hear about all this stuff on Facebook.

Terry's Treasures is a good one that usually has sew alongs. I've not looked lately as I do really know that I don't need any more projects.
I finished a quilt from one of her sew alongs and sold it quickly from my etsy shop. I have another one to finish from one of her sew alongs.
