Being Hard On Yourself

Funny how I never realized this. Maybe it was the way I was taught. People hold such high regard for others, but not themselves. When I learned I was not meeting such high regards. Was it me or was it all hype. Had a feeling it was all hype. Lead by example and what not.
Then when you hear actions come to words. Pretty bad feeling, but only because you could not comprehend. Once you did, it was like this mountain outside my window lifted off my shoulder. Cliche, maybe, wrong never. How teaching was meant to be. Do not be so hard on yourself. It is hard to learn if we all fall short. Not a slap, but a reminder. Who I am I to say also! Do not be so hard on yourself, but realize.

A lot of people set high unrealistic expectations of themselves and it can be very destructive. I know a few that should let it go and accept who they are. They're good people whether they believe it or not.

I always get that but hate the ones that make them believe they can do that,

@anamika161088 I'm all for working toward high goals but be realistic especially if you aren't quite accomplishing what you hoped.

Agree. Living realistic life is far much better than chasing for unrealistic goals. It keeps you away from unnecessary stress.

That is true also, but always wonder if that was influence or just the way we are made.I guess as long as we know our self or get to know our self it does not matter. Just how you choose to live at that point. Well done Miss Lady

I wish I could be harder on myself, I know I can be better than this.
I give up too easily on myself, too soft. I know I can run a mile more, read more pages, do my chores faster, write a chapter more, than lazying around on bed.
And I like your words " People hold such high regard for others, but not themselves". Thank you.

Many people high egoistic expectations from others and also try to treat others inferior. It is too bad to think about others as inferior creates a lot of problem around. Being hard on ourself can be changed by us at any time but we can cannot change others. Only thing is we can change our mind set towards the world

I used to think the biggest problem on this earth was corruptness. I have to say you are on the mark with talks of ego and a inferior attitude ego maniacs leave behind.
