The weekend has to end

It's a holiday here today. And it's Monday. Social media is flooded with dont-like-monday posts. But I am wondering. If all Mondays were holidays and the agony of a Monday morning was wiped away, would Tuesday be our next victim? Surely there will be a day of the week where the weekend ends and a new one begins.
Now I am not very fond of Monday's either. After two days of peace, getting back into the rat-race takes time. Traffic snarls, list of piled up emails that I did not bother with on Friday, status reports...aaarrrggghhh! But moving the headache to Tuesday, does not seem to help.
And then I wonder that it is the things I am complaining about that actually feeds me and allows me to relax on a weekend. It is because I feel petrified about Mondays that I feel joyful about the Saturday. If the weekend did not end, it would not begin either.
It reminded me of something a distant friend once said when I was trying to say good-bye. He said, "It is only because we are parting, that we can look forward to meeting again."

I never minded Monday's. I guess because the week has to start somewhere, and where work was concerned, one day was the same as the next. I also didn't look forward to weekends as my job demanded we work weekends. My days off were during the week, and those I did look forward too. Now I'm retired and every day is the weekend and I love it.

Monday for me is a day to look forward to. Before this day arrives, uniform both mine and kids must have ironed, a good dish for the kids packed lunch, some other stuff, and a whole lot of energy to reach Friday.

@lingayako, Wow! You still look forward to Monday? I wish I could use an emoticon here which said "Hat's off to you"
