Can someone really dethrone USA in basketball?

In this years Olympics (016), the United States Men's Basketball team have escaped two narrow games against France and Serbia. They have a clean slate of 5-0, but the narrow gap (3 points) winning margin is giving the other countries some confidence that the United States Basketball Men's Team can be beaten. They will be playing Argentina for the quarterfinals. These Argentina team have also NBA players like Manu Ginobili and others. This would be a good game to watch. The ball is round so anything can happen. However, the US team is expected to win the gold.

I agree, this will give other teams some sort of motivation to do better next tournament. But I am also concern on the fact that the USA National Team this Olympics is indeed not the best it can create given the other talents that chose not to play...

@wiLLmaH I'm not sure with that, when it comes to height, China can compete, but talent is the thing USA have the most too. I prefer a European country to match USA.

@xela_r24a I have not watched the Olympics since I was very young. All I remember is gymnastics. They have basketball as one of the sports as well is that what your post means?

@shaggin my posts is about USA ruling the sports of basketball in the World Tournaments which includes FIBA and Olympics. So yes, they have basketball in the olympics. Do you think anyone can dethrone USA when it comes to basketball?

I doubt if we can see basketball players as talented as the NBA players. They can be beat for sure but just not in basketball.

@xela_r24a I think we are light years away from seeing another country defeat the US Men's basketball team in a dominating fashion that the USMNT just showed.

Team USA has not been that overwhelming in Olympics. Yes, they can lose to Spain who has many NBA players including the Gasol brothers.

If both teams will create their best possible line up? I would also somehow agree that Spain is also one of the best.

USA is No. I in basketball. You know, it has so many basketball teams taking in basketball matches in the basketball season. This naturally trains basketball players to be better players. Other teams would find it hard to defeat USA basketball team, to my understanding.

Could be, but I know other have their own basketball tournaments every year so I would it's just fair. Maybe it will trim down to the preparation of each team do before each world tournament :)

I don't really watch basketball but my boyfriend does. He always join bets during NBA season which irks me sometimes except when he wins the bet.
I may have to ask his opinion on this. :)

Try watching, you may enjoy it!!!! We just put bet on it to add intense on the Game, especially during playoffs or Finals especially...
