Elvis and a little Graceland

Remembrance celebrations of the last days of Elvis are seriously profound today, and why not, the MAN was LEGEND! Ironically I received a postcard posted in Knoxville, Tennessee yesterday which is just a stone throw from the Graceland residence of Elvis - which is Memphis Tennessee. Let me just tell you all - I LOVED ELVIS !! I LOVE HIS MUSIC . . . and if I lived in the USA I would be one of those ELVIS followers. Born on the same day as my Granny - 8 January, born in the same year as my mom 1935, and then passed away on my friends birthday - 16 August 1977 - so how could I ever forget him - the dates are all linked to my favorite loved people. While watching "Autopsy" the other day - they gave the conclusive evidence after so many years of controversy - the reason for his death: "Constipation" - due to various prescribed pills, bad diet, no sleep, tension . . . I lay blame at all those that stood by and assisted him instead of helping him. I would love to put a famous Elvis earworm in your head this morning, but decided to rather use the Paul Simon song "Graceland" instead. "I'm going to Graceland Graceland In Memphis Tennessee" the song has a deeper meaning, but that you can fathom out for yourself. Resting in Peace - Elvis photo is of my daughter doing a tribute ballet to the song "Love me Tender" on the 16 August at a special Ballet performance.

I was never really a big Elvis fan. I think it was all of those bad films he did!! Then I saw footage of him in his fat Elvis in Vegas in white sparkly jumpsuit days. And then I could see what it was all about!

Beautiful daughter I am also an Elvis fan. We live a hop and a skip from his birthplace in Tupelo, Mississippi. His mother was rumored to be a cousin of ours.

Oh imagine that - you should find out more about the rumor, I would love to be catting to someone connected - but you live close enough to his birthplace to make you more than qualified. ha ha
