Yes, it is better to select people whom we would regard as friends, specially close friends.

You are brave indeed. As for me, I parted ways with 2 friends because they hurt/offended me but now, I want them both back. Sometimes, I want to fight for my feelings. Get angry and stay angry then let them go but now, I feel like crawling back to them and beg for them to come back.
So sad :(

We are a people who live not just for ourselves but for others. There will be a lot of times that we are alone, and wishing that we have other people involved in our lives. However, there are also times when we want to be alone. Absolutely, we need to choose people who we allow to be part of our lives in the long term. The Law of Association is so basic that anyone, whether consciously or unconsciously will experience that the people you allow to be part of your life will have a great impact in your life - for better or for worse. We don't need to have foes or being an enemy to someone. If it be possible, let's leave peaceably with all men.

@ValueAdder (257) It has reached that point of life where the most important people in my life are those of mutual benefits.I totally agree with your point.
