Do Your Research

I have decided to write this because I have saw several people asking about how legit a certain site is and getting mixed reviews or bad reviews on good sites. Do your research. I have found that Scam Advisor is a great tool to use to find out just how legit and trustworthy a site is. Not to bash anyone or to criticize anyone but someone ask about getting emails from a particular site and everyone is saying no, it is a scam. Well that is not true, while getting opinions from people is good do not solely go on that. In this particular case none of those that answered had ever heard of the site or worked on it. Well I checked it out, it looked good, so I went on Scam Advisor, this site has in fact been around for about a year and is the real deal. It was listed as very trustworthy. Others had asked about certain new sites and got mixed reviews, I did the same with those and they came back good also.
I decided to start using this useful tool sometime ago, when I first started working online, because I signed up for some sites that seemed very trustworthy one in particular was supposed to help a certain church and they turned out to be scams. Someone told me about this tool and I have used it every since. Now, I have been known to ask and get feedback on certain sites but I do not go solely on that. I always look it up. I ask one time about a site and got all bad reviews but when researching the site it was listed with great potential. I joined and it and Mylot has been my two main ones. Turns out those bad reviews were just from those whom did not want to put the time an effort in.
Also, just because a site is affiliated with the owners of one that went under does not in no way mean that that particular one will. Some people do learn from their mistakes. This is just my opinion and trying to help everyone out. Again I did not write this to offend anyone!

Don't know if you're talking about another site but there is this one
which has a slightly different spelling.
I tried it a couple of months ago and it still showed bubblews as trustworty.
Even now it's still saying it's a popular site but it does say it has a bad reputation...but it has been closed for ages.
I tried another couple of sites that shut and it is not reliable at all.
I agree with doing research but not with using sites, you've got to do it yourself by contacting people, looking for information etc.
Or better yet just stay on mylot

@melissa1024 I agree, but that'd be personal research.
I would not totally (if at all) trust these sites that purport to tell you what is good and what isn't as they are so wrong often they aren't worth checking.
I will say I'm not interested in earning, my interest is totally in the social/discussion side of any site...as yet I've been unable to find a site as good as mylot for the discussion side of things.

@Mike197602 That's our difference. I am on Mylot just for discussion/ social side of things. The others I am on for the money. I am unable to work outside the home, so all I can do is online.

@Mike197602 I agree with staying on Mylot. But, you can not go on solely what others say. I do Mylot and about 10 other blogging and freelance sites and a couple times people said the sites were bad and in fact they turned out to be some of my best earners. Researching and reading reviews on your searches are better than asking people in my opinion.

I do my research as well before I join a site. As to writing sites, I only have myLot. I only prefer sites with escrow features, where payments are guaranteed, like Upwork.

@rina110383 It really pays to research and not solely rely on others opinions.I do here and several blogging sites that are reliable but I did my research first.

Thank you for posting this. I know lots of people have questions about certain sites but have no idea how to find out if they are legit or not. This will help a great deal. It is always best to do your research first. I had not heard of Scam Advisor but I will now use it if I have concerns about a particular site.
