Why Are People Hooked on Pokemon Craze?

Is it addictive? Or are people just needed something to make their lives a little exciting?
There are pros and cons with the recent pokemon craze where you see people walking and staring at their cellphones or gadgets trying to catch the pokemon creatures. There had already been stories of how a user almost got hit by a vehicle, or one that nearly fell on an open manhole; or a couple who left their baby unattended because they were out chasing pokemons somewhere.
Am just wondering how long can this game last and how long can people get hooked on it.

It could be like some fad or"few" where people will ultimately lose interest in.

Agree! Exponential ups usually have exponential downs as well.

It is good it is not being played in your place. It is a game application where people have o go outside and catch the pokemon creatures in different places; maybe it uses GPS.

Yes, a common thing where people join the bandwagon for the sake of being "in."

Same here, I have no time; but if I can't do anything to ease boredom, I might get into it too.

I don't know ! I guess it's kind of interesting. My brother in law gave me his phone to try and catch one when I was over his house (there was one in his house!) and it was mildly entertaining (and frustrating as I couldn't catch the dang thing) but I can't see myself doing that for hours. On the upside, it's getting people out of the house, I guess. (And robbed and hit by cars, but still). Who knows. It will probably pass like any other phase.

That is really the trend now... I saw lots of young people who are engaged in this pokemon craze. My phone even contains the pokemon application which my daughter downloaded but I don't play with it. But last Saturday while I was at the clinic for my daughter's check up I was tempted to open the pokemon application and there in the middle of the doctor's clinic was a pokemon but I haven't caught it because I don't really know this game.

i reckon such a game jest goes to show that more folks need to get a life perhaps?? i dunno, seems utter nonsense to me. there's been many instances 'f quite a few accidents here'n the u.s. (not to mention all the others..) where folks're doin' such whilst they're drivin'! irresponsible...

You are right, and they're putting their lives and other people's lives in danger, doing it while driving.

Yes, young people love it, and our concern is for their safety doing it outside in the streets.

Yes, once you get into it, you will be hooked; like in the past, I played Farmville so much wasting a lot of time; same with candy crush, tetris, etc.

I am not that into games, probably I dont have enough patience so I can not play them well.Pokemon Go, It seems that we still cant play it here, but at least I see many reports about it, it goes viral on the internet,"people go out more and make more new friends,it is so popular"as they say.May be Iwill give it a shot if available.

There's nothing wrong with it, as long as one would take into consideration his safety.
