My son turned 1 today

Bethlehem, Israel
August 17, 2016 3:14pm CST
So as every person would do, I invited friends and family, Bought pizza drinks and of course a fancy birthday cake, candls, balloons, Prizes for the friends, etc.. Arrived at the party spot at the park an hour early, decorated around, set up the table, put up the baloons. And when friends and kids arrived i started a whole birthday program for them including gams and competitions. Kids enjoyed a lot and my son was so happy all along. After coming home with presents and all, bathed the child and put him to sleep, i crashed exhausted into bed thinking why do we need all of that mess and hard work?? Well, i would like to think that after a year full of great and challenging things going on, it was a big party for myself, celebrating the fact that I've gone through all and become much more experienced, wiser, and much much more stronger than a year ago, and for that im thankful :)

It's perfectly ok to celebrate your own achievements every now and then!

What a nice way to look at all that work you went through as a party for yourself too :-) I like that idea.

@shaggin you are right at this point, Besides what I've said about selfishness, its because i know sometimes there are things you have to do although knowing there is no reward..

Although its a bit selfish, i do that quite some time when i feel i put to much effort in projects that no one will understand how hard it was to put together... That way i keep it fun for me all the way :)

Happy 1st birthday to your son. Sounds like the party was a hit and so much fun. Treasure every moment of his life because time passes so quickly and before you know it he will be grown and having children of his own.

You are so dam right, this year i was taking care of him and another 5 babies that became his friends, now when I have summer break, he seems to miss his friends coming over and i was surprised to find out that watching 6 babies at once day after day for a year is much more easier than trying to entraine him alone for couple days, However.. I feel like having a break myself so i booked a flight next week with my friend for a week. Hope he won't be upset with me when im back..

Yeah, kids didn't want to go home, 3 hours later they were still asking for more games and missions .. I love spending my energy with children :)
