I did something I'm ashamed of. I didn't mean any harm, but my care giver wasn't emptying my trash and not emptying my bedside commode. I had asked him once to do it and he did, but didn't do it since then. He has been with me for about 6 weeks. He told me this afternoon that if there is any thing I need him to tell lr and i will do it I'd it is in the scope of my licence. It all ended well but I feel I should have done what he said.

That's okay....because if you reeeeally think about, those 2 jobs are a given. He should have known to do them anyway. Don't feel guilty. Guilt is a nasty thing, and it's toxic to your body. I took care of my Grandpa for 14 yrs. and I learned real fast what the "givens" were....and my poor Grampy didn't even talk much. (Stroke). But if you still feel the need to make things better (to make the guilt go away, and so he doesn't feel bad) just wait for the next time he empties the garbage or bedside commode and then say something like, "Thanks so much for that." Then it will somehow make him feel special, like he remembered a special request from you, and that's what people like. That's how you fix something like this.
