Any shade of green or LIGHT SHADE of blue,is generally recommended for a bedroom. You can have light(electric bulbs) of these two colours.

Thanks, what colors would complement these 2 colors well. I would automatically use whites, and yellows. Any other ideas?

I know that this discussion is a month old now SunlightSwoon and possibly you have already painted the rooms in your house. If not, I would suggest that if you still want light colours that you leave them as they are but add some colourful cushions or put prints on the wall. That way you can always change them around at a later time, without the need to be continually repainting, if you decide that it isn't quite the colour that you want. That is what I do anyway. I prefer muted colours, like beige, cream and white although the door frames are always highlighted with a different colour. From there it is cushions, covers and perhaps a print or two on the wall. :)

When I moved into my house all the walls were white too. I had just moved from a house with white walls and wanted colors. I LOVE pastels, so in my bedroom I painted one wall pastel yellow, another pastel pink another pastel blue, and the 4th wall I did a checkerboard of all the colors. It is so cool looking, I saw it on a make over show. First I painted the whole wall a pastel pink, then I blocked it off with the paint tape in big large squares. There are 4 squares down and 5 squares across. The first square I left pink, the next one to the right I painted the blue over the pink, the 3rd I left pink, the 4th I painted the yellow over the pink, the 5th I left pink. I continued to do this over the whole wall. It is gorgeous and very pastel with now two added colors from the mixing of paint. Now I have purple and orange in pastel to go with the pink, yellow and blue. I love this room because it is so colorful, yet soft.

That sounds really pretty and quite unusual, wmg. I will keep that in my for the next time I paint. I like different kinds of looks and that sounds really nice. Thanks. What do you think, SS?
