They say," don't crib by comparing yourself with those who are richer or better than you. but look at those who are poorer or worse than you and be thankful to what you are".
In my view, why should you at all compare with anybody when you are satisfied with what you are! But then if you don't look at a better person or situation then how can you know the worth of what you are or without comparison where is the scope for improvement? Doesn't the development stagnate? I believe in comparing with a better situation we can set standard for improvement and comparison of this type is a positive comparison which is safe.

We are all unique individuals and I don't think we should compare ourselves to anybody else whether they are better or worse off then us. We all walk our own paths and set our own goals. We should live life to our potential.

yeah, that is true. But while we set goals it would be better if we set some standards by watching or learning from some success stories.

Very good advice since there are many people in this city who are in worse condition than I am like being homeless.

I think you need to have an idol to emulate but it doesn't have to be someone rich.

my thoughts'n the quote're that one shouldn't be envious 'f what other folks might 've. also to not wallow'n what'cha see's yer failures/'r weaknesses - there's always someone out there who's worse off fer certain. many 'f those folks know true happiness 'n generosity though, much better than those who've not done without 're 've great health/wealth.
but, yer correct. one cannot grow without lookin' 'pon the world, to see jest how far one can dream.

I believe that we always compare ourselves with others, but we don't gloat, we feel happy for other's achievement and derive inspiration and motivation from those who we think are 'better', in our judgment. Great thought, Judy.

We can learn from others, some good, some bad. We need to choose.

I don't compare myself to others. I just try to be the best person that I can be.

I don't like comparison. We can never compare one person with another. Even siblings of the same house have different nature and talent.Comparison only creates problems.I think there should be no comparison.
