BBBBUUUURRR, 42 is way too cold for me especially this time of year ..... I think NOAA is getting some false readings, we got rain, thunder and wind but thankfully no snow.

@rebelann Yeah, something must have been wrong. I hope. We get some pretty cold weather here, but I don't mind. I can't handle the heat.

Thanks, I'm still here and dry but at least we did get rain, we needed it and yeah, I'm danged glad we didn't get snow.

It is one very strange August @simone10 used to be hotter than it has been, I guess when our planet shifted on it's axis it started changing where the equator is and that of course changes how the seasons work. I suppose one year we'll have real seasons instead of these seesaw months we get.

I was so shocked when we got the weather warning that predicted the possibility of snow ..... you can imagine how relieved I was when all we got was a downpour but no snow.

77 sounds a little too cool for this time of year, I'm happy we're still in the 80s for now and I hope we get some 90s back. Have you noticed that the seasons have been starting earlier than they did years ago?

I recall mom findin a fossil of a fish in our mountains back in the 1960s and she found out that we'd once been under an ocean. Dang, maybe you own ocean front property ...... course you'll be long gone when that happens

Yeah, that makes sense @crazyhorseladycx over the years the weather in Albuquerque always seemed to be more 4 seasonal then here and even Las Cruces tends to have more of a seasonal change than we do although not too much more. Alamagordo gets more normal seasonal changes than either of LC or EP.

@rebelann i find shells quite oft here. further north 'tis large alligator skeletons - we're talkin' 20 footers. there's been a few heavy rains since i've lived here where ya could'a sold't 's such. the water 'twas so high, jest barely 'nder my porch.

Yes, our planet is slowly going towards another ice age but we'll be long gone before it happens.

I think the ice age we're heading for is probably still a long way off in human terms @akalinus planetary changes are much more gradual than one of our lifetimes.

It sure is crazy and I'm thinking that the weatherman had his head up his arm pit when making that prediction ..... I'm trying to picture anyone getting their head into an armpit, not likely.

Thank you, I am safe and quite warm. We didn't get the predicted snow which was a relief.

Yeah it would have made the record books alright but luckily we only got rain and now the flooding that caused is the talk of the town right now. It sure is screwy alright, I can't remember such a cool August in the 56 years I've lived here. We're supposed to stay in the 80s and very low 90s for the next week at least which is very odd in itself. Usually we only cool down to the 90s this time of year, 80s' shouldn't come round til late September.
