Saturday was a beautiful day so we headed out camping. The campground we stayed at we have been to a few times before but not in a couple of years. We set up tent and then we did some boating and some swimming. After that we had an awesome bbq feast.
The evening was a bit cool so we lit a campfire and sat around and had a few drinks. The people in the next site had guitars and they were singing. The girls had an amazing voice. She kind of sounded like Adele. She sang a variety of songs so it was great entertainment. She sang until about 1am. We went to bed about 2 am and then we were up again as soon as the sun came up because the crows were cawing and the squirrels were chirping and getting into everything. Oh the joys of camping. lol
We had an awesome campfire breakfast and then we headed home around 10:30am. We were home by noon. I ended up having a nap in the afternoon because I was so tired.
All in all it was a pretty good weekend but I missed this place while I was away. I am still trying to catch up on what I missed in the short time that I was away from here.

@Happy2BeMe I think that I prefer a bed, a roof and a private bathroom.

We are older but we still tent. We will tent as long as our bodies allow us to. RV camping isn't for us.

@cacay1 Oh we are far from young, in age anyway! You are only as old as you think you are is our motto.

It sounds nice. I miss camping, and I miss campfires. I love the smell of campfires, nowhere in californiais it safe anymore it seems. That's great you had a good time. I couldn't do the sleep on the ground thing anymore, but a motel outside a national park or even trailer I would love.

Glad to hear that you had fun on your camping trip. Couple years ago me and my boyfriend camped all summer with some friends right up until Labor day weekend then it was back home. I enjoy camping and the fires and can't forget the smore's.

@Happy2BeMe That's right definitely not camping without the smores. We was suppose to go camp this year off the river we float but stuff keeps coming up maybe next year now.The chilly at night part is what makes it more fun then you can snuggle up with the one you love to keep warm.

Yes for sure you gotta have smores! Camping just wouldn't be the same without them. We try to go every weekend from May until Labor Day weekend. One year went went until the first week of October. It was a bit chilly at night but the days were nice.

@Tina30219 Yes I totally agree. In the summer its gets too warm for snuggling so I like the chilly nights much better. :)

@Juliaacv We are taking our grand daughter with us for the Labour Day weekend. I am actually off work all next weekend. So we are leaving on the 31st and coming back on Sept. 5th so it will be a nice little stretch.

No we didn't but my fiance wanted to. We decided to just sit by our fire and listen. We enjoyed all the songs she sang and many of them were favorites of ours anyway.

I love camping and have done it all my life. I love sleeping in a tent. We usually go for two weeks at a time. We camp by a noisy river, full of rocks so we don't get to hear our neighbors. That music sounds wonderful... its nice when you entertaining neighbors.

Summer passes to quickly. At the first of it you think you have all kinds of time to do things and then before you know it, it is over.
