Too Much Month at the End of my Money

It always seems as if my money runs out (or I should really runs low) by this time every month. No matter how much I try to budget throughout the month I'm always struggling to make ends meet at the last week.
I just finished paying the few bills that are due before the end of the month and once again my checkbook is flat and broke.
I basically have everything I need so I'm not worried but it just feels depressing not to have a few extra bucks. Oh well, at least I made it through another month, the bills are paid and we have enough food to last until we get paid again.
Next month I'm going to make sure I have extra $$$ when my checkbook closes for the month....OK so I say that every month

@Marilynda1225 It is to me. But that is because i used to buy stuff at cost by the case from the store I used to work at.

I try to sell things on Ebay to help bring some extra $$ but it's not much. I never did get into those online things to bring in some bucks...are they worth the time and effort?

I should have planned better for retirement but since I lost my job there was no choice but to start collecting Social Security. I couldn't find another job at my age

@Marilynda1225 That's a problem and when you take the money early you get less of of it. My husband would have had a fantastic pension from his union job if he wanted to collect. But since we wanted to pay off all debt in NJ before moving we had to take it early and that cut his pension in half. Oh well, we needed it to make the move so it all worked out.

I am so waiting for the day when I finally have some extra money and I can go do shopping just to please myself @Marilynda I don't even remember the last time I went shopping. The only things we can manage to purchase of course are groceries. It has become so bad that when I bought two simple pens for myself I felt like a child at Christmas because I had something new Hope you have some extra bucks next months.

Just scraping by each month is not a lot of fun. I know the feeling. I really wish we had just a little more cash to work with.

The exact same thing happens to me each month toward the end of the month. Every dollar is used. It is a cycle and I am grateful to God each month. I thank God that I got through another month of paying the bills.

I totally know the feeling. This month I was lucky since today is the day I get paid for my ghost-writing assignments and I have $700 earned so that will make my checkbook a little fluffier lol

I can so relate. We used to pay all of our bills with my husbands SSi check every month and it got cut back tremendously, just enough to cover our lot rent. Now have to use his check from work to pay the bills and everything else. It's rough, especially him being a painter and out of work weeks at a time.
