It Must Be a Troll

Trip trap, trip trap went the hooves of the Billy Goats Gruff, as they went across the bridge. Trip trap, trip trap.
Suddenly they were threatened, by a loud and scary voice, from under the bridge. It was the mean and ugly old troll." I am going to catch you, I am going to eat you!! Stay off of my bridge!"
Something is under my bridge. . . one of the ones in my mouth that is. I have had an issue with the gum under my bridge for close to a month. I made a dental appointment, meanwhile, my primary care doctor prescribed me some antibiotics. They took a million dental xrays. The dentist showed me in the picture. Something is under my bridge. It is causing a stinky, draining abcess. I do not feel much dental pain, but I knew it was there.
After that exam, we immediately set me up for a long overdue cleaning. I have no job, no insurance and a big bill at the dentist near where I used to live.
The plan was that the very excellent hygienist would get her tools and her floss up under that bridge and vanquish the troll.
So, after two dental appointments today, I feel much better. I will swish and swash and continue to banish that troll with warm salty water, or Listerine or peroxide.
That was the top half of my day.

Dental, hearing and vision are all grossly under covered for the poor and for the elderly. I am using a benefit that I have never needed to before.

Our society seems to view dental work as a luxury rather than a necessity. Bad teeth can make you sick all over.

And here I thought the picture was the teeth of the nasty troll, lol. Did u go to a new dentist? I have insurance coverage for a portion and then I VB barter the remainder. Maybe you could clean the office or something similar to apply toward the work?
I barter with my dentist, eye doctor and a shoe store owner.

Actually I used my tribal membership and went to a low income clinic. I believe it is 100% free for me, as they did not ask me for any money. I was prepared to pay if needed, though. I still owe my previous dentist over a thousand dollars from a procedure that did not work. New dentist said that it probably should not have been done. We are going to address getting my mouth back in good shape. Bartering is good, but probably would not work in this circumstance.

@MarshaMusselman It is important if he can document it to get his tribal rights.

@GardenGerty At least can you have free coverage at present. I didn't know you had American Indian in your family tree. My husband has some too.

I believe all my wisdom teeth are out. I do not remember. I will be having some teeth removed, etc. but I was trying to wait for Christmas break.

@GardenGerty Mine are all gone now. I'm glad I didn't have all four out at once.

Hope you will get well completely as quickly as possible! Tomorrow I will see my dentist, too. By the way, a suggestion to you: eat less spicy food.

Spicy food is not the issue. Better personal hygiene. Many herbs and spices are good for you. Honestly, though, I do not eat much spicy food. There was something that became lodged under my bridge and caused an infection.

Wait a minute, who is Adam? Have I lost a few brain cells. Oh yeah, your son in law. I am used to seeing his name as "HeatherandAdam". Where I went, they want an initiat visit, which will be at least $50 and then $50 for each tooth pulled. If you want to know, message me.
Yeah, I am paying on a repair that should have been an extraction. From two or three years ago.

I'm glad you're better. Dental complications are no dang fun. Usually an abcess hurts like the devil. So I'm glad that pain wasn't too bad.

I worry about them causing sinus issues. I do not feel a lot of pain and tend to ignore my health.

They are not good for your overall health, either. I am glad to have it gone.
