Long live the king of rock and roll! As I've said frequently, it's just amazing that someone who's been gone for 39 years now still acquires new fans every year...all without his music being altered! Of course, I'm old (I remember when he died), so I'm not in that category. But I certainly do appreciate the fact that Elvis' music transcends the era it was recorded in and truly is music for all time. Here's my next song on my list of 25 favorite Elvis tunes.
#18: Frankfurt Special
First things first: on the album, it's spelled Frankfort Special. But this was a movie set in Germany, where the town is spelled Frankfurt.. "Frankfort" is the capital of Kentucky.
Okay, geography and spelling lessons are over. This is a great song with a chugging beat to mimic the train he's singing about.
G.I. Blues wasn't exactly the best movie Elvis ever made (it wasn't the worst, either), but oh, the soundtrack was fabulous. You'll see how much I love this soundtrack later in the countdown.

C'mon train, get to there, now!
