Is technology killing human imagination, or improving us?

Many people thinks we are unable to think and be creative without technology, every information we want is right at our finger tips, most of us always look for the easy way out, we got lazy in imagining and being creative especially in our writing. Do you think this is true?

No, I don't think so. I was creative and a selling writer way back. My only technology was a manual typewriter and a phone that you had to pay charges for long distance calls. Technology has made my writing easier because I don't need a card catalog to search and I don't have to make carbon copies or start over when I make a major mistake. I also don't lose my story and there are no peanut butter or tea cup stains on it. You can be creative without technology. It just makes it easier.

100% agree You've said more or less the same thing as me Technology makes things easier but the actual creative process is irrelevant of any technology.

@akalinus Yes it really makes life easier but some of us abuse technology and in-turn slowing down our brain.

Absolutely not. Technology is advanced by imagination. I don't think tech has any impact on imagination. Creative people use technology but what they create comes from their imagination not technology. How does technology impact imagination?...I can't see that at all. How does it impact writing?...yes there are spell checks etc but the actual thoughts are created in our minds.

@JAMTECH I think they're totally different things and can't be compared as to their respective importance. Imagination is important but so is knowledge.

@Mike197602 Hear what scientist and thinkers said about Albert Einstein, he has stressed that imagination is more important than knowledge. This is because knowledge is limited to what is known and understood while imagination embraces the world and points to all there ever will be to know and understand.
