Mohenjo Daro ...an epic disaster?

When a movie like Mohenjo Daro which had humongous production values, top rated star like Hrithik Roshan, a high buzz, a director-music combination of Ashutosh Gowarikar and A R Rahman and is promoted as an epic romance drama bombs or fails, it raises lots of question and calls for retrospection. Being a Hrithik fan, I saw the movie first day, and honestly felt that it was not the best movie of Gowarikar or Hrithik, neither it had that compelling screenplay that we saw in Lagaan or Swades or Jodha Akbar. But still it can surely not be counted as a movie which should be termed epic disater or failure or worthless or waste of money. I feel it is a decent movie that can be watched once which could have been much much better had the story not been so cliched. The fight scenes, the climax scene, the overall performance of Hrithik Roshan were praiseworthy. I feel they should have not released the movie with Rustom and the trailer should have been projected correctly. Its sad to see Mohenjo Daro being written off as epic disaster.

I hope there is need more work on script. Mohanjo-Daro is mile stone of indian civilization so it's need more effort. One of the most fault of indian movies are love story. Romance is not compulsory subject to every movie.

I completely agree, the script was weak, but we see so many movies around with no script at all still doing well. May be expectations from Gowarikar and Hrithik were very high. The romantic angle really spoiled the movie.

I watched this movie for getting a purpose of some historical knowledge but it is much different from that.
