Martin Blackwell was convinced in 40 years prison sentence, for furiously pouring hot boiled water at his son and his son's lover.. He told the police in court that he heated the water.. Which the judge replied that he had enough time to come back to himself, and not let the anger overtake his mind.. Sentenced for guilty in prison, now the poor man will be in prison for 40 years, and killers sentenced for only 5 or 10 years. Welcome to America!

really have you ever had boiling water'
accidentally spilled on you? Thats ultimate'
pain as for forty years that is a bit too much but I believe he can get out on good behavior in'less time., I doubt many killers get just five years I would look at the real facts before'saying that. I am an American,.

I very well understand his motives. Having a gay couple in your house! However, as the judge said, he had some time to think reasonably, and overcome his ferocity. 40 years it's absurd though. 1 year would be pretty enough. But it depends on the burning degree and the health conditions of the "victims".

Perhaps the judge considered it being premeditated and similar to a hate crime. Also might be sending a message though that shouldn't come into play in court cases. Some sentences seem heavy while others seem lite.
What are sentences like in that state? Some contain get out early by parole while others are not, "life is life".

How many of those killers who receive 5-10 year sentences are convicted of first degree murder, though? Given the amount of premeditation that went into committing this crime, first degree murder would be the most comparable charge because it requires the killing to be deliberate and planned ahead of time. I wouldn't consider any of the lower murder charges to be similar enough because of the premeditation that went into boiling the water and deliberately dumping it on the victims.

@sabtraversa Nope, it wasn't classified as a hate crime because the state has no specific laws detailing what constitutes a hate crime.
He could be facing additional federal charges for committing a hate crime, though.

While I don't agree with the guys actions 40 years seems like way too long of a sentence. Yup that's the justice system for ya it's definately broken.

i Agree with you but poor man loosened up himself couldn't take the stress to see his son banging with his mate and poured a hot boiled water to them lol. I bet he was jealous and wanted to join the action too, but the couch was small for 3 of them.. Okay jokes aside, 40 years is too muchh
