Having finished my Favorite Bands Fronted by Women series yesterday, it's time for a new series, and I'm headed to the land of hockey and Trailer Park Boys for my Favorite Canadian Acts. And I promise not to use "eh" once! #10 is vocalist Sarah McLachlan. Sarah McLachlan has been at it since 1988, both as a solo act, and as a contributor to other artists (her vocals on Delerium's "Silence" are classic.) She is a nine-time Juno Award winner, and has won three Grammy's. She is the founder of the Lilith Fair, and the recipient of the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia. McLachlan has sold over 40 million records worldwide. Her 1997 album, Surfacing, a hit in itself, spawned the hit single "Building a Mystery." The song was a #1 smash in Canada, and didn't fare too badly down here, either, hitting #13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Why Sarah McLachlan? Very simple. I've always liked her voice. Enjoy "Building a Mystery."

I have to turn the channel every time that damned ASPCA commercial with "Angel" or "Arms of an Angel" or whatever it is called comes on. I can't even listen to it because it disturbs me so much.

@teamfreak16 I have to either mute the TV or change the channel. It is too upsetting to me. I've tweeted the ASPCA about it several times.

Very cool, and she needs to put out some new stuff, but maybe I am just out of the loop with her.

This is going to be interesting. McLachlan is a fine singer and Building A Mystery a good song. My mind is swirling: Guess Who, Men Without Hats, Rush, BTO, Alanis, Triumph, Neil Young, tons of Canucks. If you pick Bryan Adams, may you be forced to listen to Paul (he's Canadian) Anka's Having My Baby 24/7.
