Tomorrow our new school term will begin. All the teachers and students will be kept very busy for their work and study. I am very happy that I will see all of my old students again after the long summer vacation for about two months. Today some of us colleagues talked about what will be the teaching content for the first period of class when meeting the students. Most say that we will talk about how they spent the summer vacation and ask them to say something that they find interesting during the summer vacation. I will be in the classroom at 7:35 in the morning for the first morning class. I am getting excited to see my students. By the way, some of you might wonder why we do not begin our new school term on September 1st. Now I would like to let you know about it. It is mainly because of the G20 conference that will be held in our capital city--Hangzhou. From the 28th of August, cars from elsewhere cannot enter Hangzhou till September 8th. That's why our boss decided to have the new school term begin on the 28th. Today all of the old students have arrived at school, except the new students, who will arrive on the 8th of September after G20 conference. Thanks for reading and responding. Take care.

Very interesting they close the city for cars for the G20. My mother was a teacher, she loved every day and every child. What grade of students do you teach?

I've always thought that teaching can be so rewarding and after reading your post, I think it's true.

In NY schools they do not go back until after labor day. Our school starts before that and then gets labor day weekend off. The kids here went back to school on the 23rd of August.

I hope you enjoy your school year. Can I ask whether you teach a grade or a particular subject?

For head teachers, they need to come to school at six and then there will be a small gathering or meeting. We have a long school time from the first morning class at 7:35 to 11:00 and 1:30 till 4:20 in the afternoon. Every teacher has to babysit the students for two evenings from 6:30 p.m till 9:05. It is a long time. I don't like to babysit in the evening, but I can do nothing as this is required for all the teachers to have two evenings...It is too much.

We had a G20 conference in Perth some years ago and there was tight security with many roads closed. Hope your first day back teaching goes well.

So you had the same experience. Yes, many roads are closed for tight security and there are a lot of policemen on some of the majoy roads and some cars outside the city will be asked to stop for a security check-up. Thank you. My first day teaching went well.
