Hey Hey Hey - It's Saturday

United States
August 27, 2016 8:34am CST
I know, big deal to some of us. Retired people enjoy Saturday every day. But back in the good ol'days of working, Saturday was a big deal then. Weekdays dragged on and on but Saturday and Sunday flew by. I'll take retirement any day, as a matter of fact I took it sixteen years ago and while not anywhere near retirement age, it was the best move ever. I didn't want to be 'old and retired' I wanted to be young enough to enjoy it....and I do. Today no running around, no food shopping, or pool store or banking, just a good day to do nothing...sure we'll cook, but that's a necessity. Robo vac is cleaning the pool so even that chore is a breeze for my husband. What's on your agenda for today? Do you plan on enjoying yourself? Yes, I like this weekend because I have no obligations. There will be a lot of myLotting, will play a game with my mom, this weekend I'll forget about troubles, and we do have some.

I like your quote... "this weekend I'll forget about troubles." I think that I will put that up over my desk. ;)

I had nothing planned today, only enjoy a lazy Saturday. The day is hot and sticky I have spent some time inside the hot tub and then I have read some pages of my book relaxing under the porch. This is the last Saturday of August. I can say that here summer is over.

@AbbyGreenhill I do not heat the water in summer, I like the massage of the hot tub, but I prefer cold water.

@LadyDuck Oh, OK, I didn't know you could use the hot tub as a cold tub LOL That's how much I know abut them.

It's not over here yet, the heat I don't mind, but the humidity today is a killer. I have never once sat in a hot tub, that's too hot for me. I don't like to take a bath either.

I used to be like that also...especially if the boss was going to be in the office on Mondays - which wasn't always the case thank goodness.

I remember the longing for Saturdays when I was in school. The school week seemed so long to get through. Today, I am just staying home and relaxing.

I try not to think back to school days - how I hated school. Went in the pool about an hour but now it's just too humid so I'm chilling out in the a/c.

i'm a bit like you in that I only work part time... and have weeks off at a time... and often have many lazy days... but funnily enough we still keep saturday and sunday as days off ... I went for a ride on my motorbike ... then had a swim in the pool ... and no work... not even on here ... lol

I don't work - working ended sixteen years ago. I don't consider the stuff I do online as work..it's play time.

@AbbyGreenhill That's ok - I just laughed when I read it in the small view in my screenshot - I wonder if the bad word checker allows "turd"...?

My daughter is on her way down from Portland with her Chihuahua puppy we have not met. It will be great to see her, since it has been several weeks since I was up there.

A day of doing nothing is always a good way to rest! I hope you've been enjoying it. :) To answer your question, I went to the flea market, Toys 'R' Us and Rite-Aid with some of the family, and I haven't done much outside of that, but that's okay lol.

@AbbyGreenhill Ack, I'm sorry. :-/ We have two around here that I like, and then there was a third we tried, you pay a quarter to get in, and it's not worth a second trip to me. What about thrift stores? Those are just as good as flea markets; I love thrift stores.

@tammys85 I am not fond of thrift stores.

I wish we had a good flea market...there is only fifteen mins. away but it's stuff that I have no interest in. and the building is huge - outside they might have veggies but most often we don't need more than what we have from our garden.
