There is some feminism to “Even It Up” as Ann sings about her lover needing to step up and put in his fair share into their relationship. “Even It Up” is much softer than “Barracuda” but still a driving rocker that leads with guitar riff then drum beat and Ann easing into vocals. She builds until pressing her point:
“Even it up, even it up, even it up
a good man pays his debt
but you ain’t paid yours yet
even it up
even it up”
The song is from the Bebe Le Strange” album and charted at #33 on Billboard Hot 100. Guys, you have to admit Nancy is adorable in her sailor suit while playing wicked guitar.

I do love Heart so much! When I lived and worked in CT, I would often travel to and from work listening to one of their cassettes in the car. They definitely woke me up in the morning and took my mind off work as I drove back home in the afternoon!

I love that song. I'm gonna go listen to it. It just hadn't come to mind in awhile
