Do You Have a Flea Market?

Do you have a "flea market" in your place? It is not a place for selling fleas (so funny here), but an area where local farmers or merchants sell fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, rice, etc. that are commonly found in a big market. I like to go there when I do not have time to go to a bigger market or grocery, or when there's so much traffic volume going to the market. Another thing is that compared to the big market, prices at the flea market is cheaper maybe as a come on for buyers, and because they pay lesser for the space. Have you gone or bought something from a flea market?

At times when we can not go to the big markets or to groceries in malls, we usually buy some vegetables there.

We have flea market here. It is where vendors sell new and used items. The farmers markets sell the fish fruits and veggies. The farmers markets are seasonal but the flea markets run all year.

It is a mixed up set up here; some people sell local produce, and some sell hardware items too.

It's always like that, it will start in a small area where they sell some fruits or vegetables, then it will expand and become a small marketplace, then the prices will soar.

The "flea market" doesn't mean what you said above here in my home town, It's a place providing used stuff. We call it "morning market" normally.

@acelawrites Yes, until about 10 o'clock every day. We would go there to get one or two day's green grocery. Sometimes a little meat.

It is so nice; so it looks like the one in Thailand or Vietnam where the goods/fruits, vegetables, etc. are on boats on the river.

We do have flea markets but what you're describing we'd be more likely to call a 'farmers' market'.

@acelawrites And the farmer benefits by not having to pay all the people that normally handle the produce between his farm and the consumer.
