It is my Sunday morning routine to go to my "farm". This so called farm of mine is the Sunday open air market in my home town. It was a joke of my brother telling my niece why I have a lot of fruits in the dining room. He said, "it's from her farm that's why she has a lot of fruits." This time I only bought 1 kilo of Rambutan which costs only 30 pesos a kilo and 6 pieces of green ripe bananas for 10 Pesos. I wanted to bake banana cake but I changed my mind and instead made smoothies out of them. I have read that rambutan has loads of vitamin C and so I just ate them the way they were. Besides the fruits that I have bought, I also bought different kinds of veggies and fresh fish from the market. Meat were still in the freezer for my father, my cousin and aunt. You see, I couldn't live without veggies. They are on my table every meal. How about you? Do you go food shopping in an open air market? Well, this is also called farmers market in another country. What do you like to buy there? Anyway, enjoy your last Sunday of August. Take care.

I know someone who managed to grow seedless rambutans. NO GMO happened, There is a method to make the trees unable to to produce seeds.

When i was young, my younger brother and my boyhood friends would joke that we would get some fruits in our " hacienda ", actially it was a "duhat" tree of our neighbor that overlaps to our roof, so instead of the birds getting it first or rots our gutter, we harvest it and there was a lot of ripe fruits

Fruits are more cheaper in our place right now. Green ripe banana is only 6 pesos per kilo and rambutan is only 25 pesos here. Anyway, just enjoy your farm while you're in the Philippines.

It is flea market here, or "talipapa" in our native tongue. Yes, it is enjoyable to buy fruits and vegetables there. Rambutan is in season now and it is cheap.

@thelme55 It is a Tagalog term, I am from CALABARZON. I wish I could go to Camiguin and pick the very sweet lanzones fruits; though I like tambutan than lanzones.

I have not heard that word Talipapa @acelawrites. What dialect is that? Soon is lanzones in season and there will be a Lanzones festival in Camiguin island.

We have a farm stand close by and I go there. I love farmers markets but here they are one day a week and very crowded.

Here is also very crowded with lots of people from the farms who are selling their goods and the buyers. I tend to go early or late. That case, not crowded anymore @BellStarr

The food here is more expensive at the farmer market so we get our fruits and vegetables at the grocery store.

I do go with a friend to our local farmer's market sometimes. That's where I love to buy my fruit, and last time I also bought some corn. It's always so much nicer than what you find in the store, and for a decent price, too. That's funny you call the market "your farm." I should start that myself.

Yes, you can call it your farm, too. You only have to pay what you "harvest". You reminded dedicated me, I have not yet buy boiled corn yet from the farmers market. Thanks @CinnamonGrl

I am having a great day @RasmaSandra. I hope you, too. I love strolling to the farmers market as I can see a lot of fruits and veggies which I have not eaten for ages. While I am here in my home town, I can eat the tropical fruits which I would never buy in Germany because they are so expensive for my taste.

I played music at a Farmers Market today but was too pooped to by anything. Right now I'm cooking up some fine cuisine from Trader Joe's.
