Troy Tauscher reports the news the Tampa Bay Rays will activate from the disabled list right handed starting pitcher Alex Cobb on Monday. Cobb did not pitch in any games for the Rays during the 2015 baseball season since he had Tommy John surgery to repair an injury to his right elbow. Cobb has pitched for the Charlotte Stone Crabs which is the Rays Class A and the Durham Bulls which is the AAA minor league team of the Rays during the 2016 baseball season. The Rays will send right handed relief pitcher Steve Geltz to the Bulls so Cobb can be part of the Rays 25 man active roster on Monday. Cobb will most likely be making his start for the Rays on Friday or Saturday when the Toronto Blue Jays visit Tropicana Field for a three game series that begins on Friday.

The Rays are out of it and want to ease Cobb back into the game and see what he's got for next season.
