The “crunch” is the most popular ab exercise out there. When it comes to building a “six-pack” and losing belly fat, crunches are a must. This move isolates ...

I think you should focus on some standing version of crunches for now.

Sometimes some exercises from online are easier and accurately explained. While sometimes the people who write blogs on fitness or have a YouTube channel about fitness do not explain it properly. When you do exercise it is required that you also do proper breathing. If you don't twist yourself well as mentioned it can be real bad for you.

I hate crunches as well. They say the plank is the best core exercise though. How about trying the 30 day plank challenge?

Why not? I guess there's nothing wrong as long as it's not much pain compare to the other ab crunches I've tried today @lealuvy2j

Abdonimal crunches make you feel painful if you are not used to it, especially when you first start to practice doing the crunches. As time goes on, it will be much better for the muscles to get used to it. So there is no need to give it up, but keep up. I am sure that you will like it when you do not feel any pain after some days. Take care.

I decided to do crunches that doesn't involve floor exercises, I think so far so good for me. But I don't want to extend beyond thirty minutes as were the pain starts. I am just a beginner, but i hope with the beginning stage alone, will help me loose weight @williamjisir66

If you are doing it for the first time or after a week, it will surely be painful. However, it doesn't need to be that painful, you can do it slowly and in a short duration for the first week. Do it at least three times a week, then as you increase strength, you can also increase the number of repetitions. Do slow down when it's painful. You need to discipline yourself if you truly want to develop or tone your abdominal muscles. it doesn't happen overnight. It takes time. Be patient. Just my suggestions, my friend.
