Indian Government has given millions rupees to player, who have won medal in Olympics. It can be happened in india. It is shameful event to indian government that Indian govt (including state govt) does not spent money on indian player to train But It has overflowed money on player after winning medal. One more surprizing fact, No one indian player (who won medal) raise this issue. They have fogotten everything in his/her victory.

I would assume that anyone who wants to be in the Olympics would have to pay their own money to train. Is that not how it usually works.

It depends. Here in BC, Canada, some government money does go to Olympians while a lot of the money is obtained through fundraising and sponsors.

@MissNikki It may be a good way to raise fund for games but personal interest is dominant on public interest and games. Politician are much busy in political games in comparison of paying attention on games.

@umakant05,Yes,it's a shame. But let's be optimistic. Now we have a PM who knows what to do.PM Modi has constituted a task force for the next three Olympics and I'm sure it will deliver positive results.

I guess each and every Indian needs to be blamed as we ourselves don't give proper recognition for the efforts they do. Let's the task force arranged by Modi works or acts as a failure as all of its so called high-end name schemes
