Before I warn you about this scam, I must say that I don't know my grandfather's side of the family (I have their last name) and they don't know me. They would not put my name as a reverence as relative on any car loan, or anything else. And there is some women with my name, but they lives in Kentucky, Co., and TN . I live in North Carolina. And another woman with a different spelling of the last name. I got a call where the caller id said toll free number. The number read 1-888-222-4227. I answer the the call. The woman asked for either Monique or Monica I'm not sure. I told her that person doesn't exist. Then she claimed that person put me as reverence as relative. Then she should would take me off the list. I looked up the number and I found out it's an auto loan placed called Drive Financial in Dallas, TX. The website I looked at said other people were called with a name that didn't exist and also the company asked for their SSN. After learning this, I did report the number to the FTC.

We use a landline and caller ID - we never answer a call from any 800 numbers they are either scams or someone selling something.

These scams I never fall for. I hate getting those phone calls with all kinds of stuff. I will never give any personal information out to anyone on the phone. Also, here in NYC, there are scams from people claiming to be from Con-Edison, the electric company. Those too I do not bother with. As a matter of fact, Con-Edison has told me on the phone that if anyone calls me about issues with my electric to hang up right away. They are all scams. They never solicit anyone.
