Where Did The Weekend Go?

Happy Monday everyone! It seems like the weekend went by so fast. We didn't do a lot over the weekend as it was too hot to go outside. The most important thing we did was give both of our dogs a bath. It was past time to bathe them so it was really needed. Bella always does really good but it takes both my brother and I to give Daisy a bath. She tries to get out and I'm always afraid she will try and jump out of the kitchen sink. Afterwards, I took both dogs out on the balcony and endured the heat for a while so that they could dry a little. Even though they are shorthaired, it takes forever for them to dry. I don't understand why that is. We used to have a long haired dog and she would always dry before Bella. When we came back in from outside, they were still damp so we snuggled them up in a blanket and they went right off to sleep. It seems like it always takes a lot out of them when they are bathed. My poor brother suffered from either his sinus' or allergies. He sneezed and was stopped up like he had a cold and felt miserable. I really think it is allergies as we have so many trees and vegetation around us. I think that is also why Bella was broken out with a rash on her stomach for a few days. Fortunately she is almost completely cleared up now. So, how was your weekend?

Me too @simone10 and in the company where I worked I was the odd ball because I couldn't understand Spanish and most everyone else was Hispanic and although they tried to include me it was hard for them to remember to speak English. I don't think they were being mean or anything but it seemed they weren't comfortable with English at all.

@rebelann I can see how that would be very difficult for you. I would have felt a little left out.

I find Saturday is a day for doing things and Sunday makes you feel like it is ending.

@simone10 They can run into each other if we aren't required to stick to a schedule. The rest of the world goes with it though right.

@Bluedoll Yes, that is very true. I do have a schedule, sort of, which does help some.

I wonder if you get as wet as the dogs when you bathe them? lol My weekend was pretty quiet. Finished a good book and relaxed...and tried to stay cool! lol

Oh yes, I did get as wet as the dogs...lol. It never fails no matter how careful I am. I love reading but usually only have time to do it at night before I go to sleep.

@simone10 Back in my working days, that was the only time I was able to read, as well. Except for weekends! Then I would surround myself with good movies and good books!

Our camping guest ended up seeming like he was getting a cold. I think he spent too much time by the river.

@simone10 That's what I told him....out by the river so much of the time that we were there.

@marsha32 A summer cold can make you feel so bad too.

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope he is doing better now. It could have had something to do with spending too much time by the river

My weekend was pretty good. My man and his son spent the night Friday night and our boys actually got along really well for once. Saturday my kids and I went out shopping and to pick up the prizes we won at the libraries for the summer reading programs. And Sunday we stayed home and relaxed.

My weekend was special. We had a blessed Sunday in our church where we had a Revival Meeting. Lol, dogs do really behave differently when bathed. Sorry for your brother, maybe it is allergy just as I do have. This is why I always have raw honey bee that helps me stop the allergies. Water with slice of lemon or lime is also helpful to me.

I love the image that you've found for this post - most appropriate. We used to have a very large dog and used to bathe her in the bath - it took both my husband and myself to do it as she constantly struggled. I'm sorry about your brother's allergies, that must be so unpleasant for him.

i wish i'd a pup that 'twas small 'nough to bathe'n the sink, lol. i'm fortunate though that the one who's my near constant companion 'tis purty good 'bout those bathes. perhaps coz she knows she'll get a 'cookie' once we're done. takes fere'er 'n a month 'f sundays fer her to dry 's well. dunno why that'd be neither. i feel fer yer brother 's such wiped me out a couple 'f days here. so glad to hear that ms. bella's doin' better, hon. 's fer my weekend? i reckon such 'twas alright :)

I bet you get wet a lot more than I do when you bath your bigger dog...lol. We always give our dogs treats afterward too. You would think a dog with short hair would dry faster but they don't. I'm lucky that I don't really have allergies but I feel for those who do.

Though some dogs do not like taking a bath, they feel so comfortable after having one. Isn't your brother allergic to dog's fur?

My weekend was good. My husband was home for once so it was nice to spend time together as a family. =) We got the lawn mowed, we did some errands and we had some family time. Over all it was nice.

Here the ragweed is out and I am starting to sneeze and be congested. I need to use my Nasonex again, I try not to use it unless I need to since it has a steroid in it but my son the nurse just told me I was crazy, it doesn't have much steroid and I should be using it so today I will start again

I always bathe our son's dog when she stays here. We had a dog, Nayla, who used to love taking a bubble tub. We actually had to spell the word tub around here or she'd be standing in the tub waiting for you to draw her a bath. I am trying to get our son's dog to enjoy a tub, she's a work in progress. We had a totally relaxing and quiet weekend here-the way weekends should be! Back to the grind today.

We enjoyed having a visitor over the weekend so that was nice. I'm going to town tomorrow to do some data entry work at a school. I spend about 4 or 5 days a year there doing this while 4 or 5 others spend almost all year writing out the details for me to enter.

My weekend was busy. I spent all of Saturday and the evening at a church conference. Yesterday I had to do all the things I should have done on Saturday.
