A Clown in the Woods

There is a terrible situation in South Carolina. There is a clown in the woods near a housing development. He has tried to lure children into the woods. There have been many complaints and police are patrolling the area.
This is a creepy new reason to be afraid of clowns. I hope they catch him before he harms anyone.
Do you like clowns or do they creep you out big time? Did you see any of those movies?
In what seems like a follow-up to one of Stephen King’s most well-known novels, a South Carolina apartment complex is being warned about a clown that is attempting to lure children into the woods.

I hope you've gotten rid of that clown suit, Jo Ann! I'm rather surprised you'd actually post this discussion after the police were at your house questioning you about those missing children... SMH!
I do hope they catch whoever is doing that, hon... I never watch scary movies. They give me nightmares, so it is safer for me to ignore those kind of shows!

@akalinus Did you notice how many different places these sightings are taking place at now? Very strange!
At least some of the kids have figured out that they can drive the clowns off if they gang up on them!

This is scary. Now we have to make kids afraid of clowns. This is really sad. I'm shaking just thinking of it.

I saw somewhere on the news a while back that this phenomenon is also happening in other cities and countries as well. There was a town in England that had a clown peaking around corners of alleys and businesses trying to lure children. It reminds me of the Stephen King book "It."

@moffittjc I hope it does not happen. There are enough mentally disturbed people around now. Don't give them ideas.

@akalinus I think Hollywood is currently in the process of making a movie about Stephen King's book "It." If such a movie ever makes it to the theaters, I can imagine it will spark a wave of crazy lunatics across the country dressing up as clowns and trying to lure people into unsafe situations.

I don't have a problem with clowns but we had a man in a van trying to lure young girls into his vehicle. This is in several towns in Connecticut, it is enough to make parents keep their kids inside.

Some one's been watching too many Batman movies that involves joker, or any other killer clowns for that matter. But I wonder if there's a serial killer clown out there.

That's awful, I hope the police catches this oddball quickly. I don't think I ever read that novel by Stephen King, and probably I'm glad for that too. Some clowns can be spooky.

That's why I really don't like clowns nowadays. Seems they're creepy to me.

I only overheard this on the news last night, but I was in the kitchen rinsing dishes. I didn't hear the whole thing, so it was making me laugh hearing about these "clown sightings." I did not know a guy was assaulting children, that's disturbing.

One of those killer clowns on the loose eating children again? Oh bother, such dark times we live in!

@akalinus Clown phobia will be high once again. It's a far cry from those peaceful days growing up watching the Bozo Show.

@OneOfMany It is no wonder that so many people don't like clowns. Those movies did the trick. I hate to think of a child terrorized by a clown.

Clowns scare the lights out of me since childhood. They come in the category of worst fears till date. Trained dogs should be let loose on such jerks using evidence to catch them fast!
Scary to think that kids are being targeted, intentions obviously doubtable.
